Vigan, one of the most well-preserved Spanish colonial towns in the Philippines, has seen a remarkable transformation throughout its history. As a municipality, Vigan was a thriving center of trade and culture during the Spanish colonial period. Its strategic location along the Mestizo River made it an important hub for commerce and governance. The town’s well-planned layout, with narrow streets and a mix of indigenous and Spanish-influenced architecture, reflects its historical significance. These historical landmarks serve as a reminder of the town's past while contributing to its economic growth through tourism, making it a unique destination in the Philippines.

During Environmental Month, people should encourage environmentally friendly practices and spread knowledge of the urgent issues harming the environment. We have a unique opportunity as students to improve the state of the environment by starting with our personal acts and spreading or sharing what we have done to better our communities. But it's crucial to remember that we have an ongoing obligation to safeguard the environment, not only during Environmental Awareness Month.   Planting is giving nutrients to animals, absorbing carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, and controlling the water cycle.
